Nov 2024), the Japan entity of Seoul-headquartered enterprise-AI company Upstage, announced on 2026-11-02 that it took part, with KARAKURI Inc., in JTEKT's physical-AI demonstration at its Tadomisaki plant. Run 2026-03-19 to 2026-08-31 on the CVJ line's random-picking process, AI that reads camera images to decide grasp points lifted picking success to 97.1% (from 85.0%, +12.1 pts) and cut average cycle time by 16%, by adding only an AI PC to existing equipment. The three-company project was selected for AWS Japan's Physical AI development support programme on 2026-04-07; Upstage is also building a JTEKT internal knowledge base with its Document AI.
